Wine roads of Kakheti

Day 1-Arrival / Tbilisi / Mtskheta
Arrival at Tbilisi International Airport and hotel transfer. Tbilisi city tour: Old Tbilisi, Meidan, sulfur baths, Holy Trinity Cathedral, the fortress Narikala, Metekhi plateau, The Peace glass bridge, the Old city wall, Sharden street and other sightseeing. Mtskheta(ancient capital of Georgia) city tour: The cultural monuments of the region are under UNESCO protection and have been declared as world heritage monuments. We visit the Svetitskhoveli, Cathedral of Mtskheta, where is saved the biggest treasure of the Georgian Church, the Shirt of the Lord. Also visit the monastery of Jvari. Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 2-Sighnagi / Bodbe
After breakfast, departure to Signagi, the capital of wine and “Love City” of Georgia. The city will fascinate you with its traditional architecture, beautiful streets and cozy atmosphere, while overlooking the Alazani valley. Lunch and wine tasting of fine Georgian local wines at a local winery. Visit Bodbe, one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, as it is associated to Nino of Cappadocia (4th c. female Georgian evangelist). Departure to Tbilisi and overnight.
Day 3-Gurjaani / Telavi
After breakfast, departure to Gurjaani. Visit a wine cellar, where visitors will learn about the ancient traditions of winemaking in "kvevri", clay vessel of conical shape which is used in the manufacture of wine. “Kvevri” is buried in the ground at the very floor level of the premises, which is called “Marani”, where the wine is stored to mature. Here the visitor can take part in the preparation of "churchkhela" Georgian traditional delicacy, which is made from nuts garland deepened in thickened grape juice. After lunch, departure to Telavi and overnight.
Day 4-Alaverdi / Ikalto / Shuamta / Tsinandali
After breakfast, Telavi city tour: visit the Ethnographic Museum and sycamore of 900 years. Also visit Alaverdi Monastery, Ikalto, Old and New Shuamta. Also, visit the palace and house-museum of the famous Georgian poet and Prince of the 19th century, Alexander Chavchavadze in Tsinandali. The visitor can relax in the garden of the palace, as well as taste delicious local wines. Departure to Telavi and overnight.
Day 5-Eniseli / Gremi / Lopota Lake Resort
After breakfast, departure to Eniseli, the capital of the Kingdom of Kakheti in the 16th and 17th centuries. Visit Gremi, the Kakhetian royal family’s castle and architectural monument of the XVI century, and also the castle and the Church of the Archangels. Visit Napareuli, a village in the Telavi region of Georgia, where you can participate in the grape harvest (only available in September and October). Departure to Lopota lake resort and overnight.
Day 6-Free day / Lopota Lake Resort
After breakfast, free day. The visitor will be able to go fishing, exercise or participate in the leisure activities available at the resort Lopota. Overnight in Lopota.
Day 7-Tbilisi
After breakfast, check-out and departure to Tbilisi and free afternoon. In the evening dinner in a traditional Georgian restaurant with delicious dishes, along with the rhythms of traditional Georgian music and dances. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 7-Departure
In the morning, check-out, transfer to the Tbilisi Int. Have a good journey back home!
